Our Story
Curious how Mercury came to be? Here’s our story. We settled in Velva after the flood of 2011. We then moved Jenica's spa business, Serenity Spa, from Minot to Velva. Once that business settled on Main Street in our cute, quaint building, we decided in 2014 to expand into a salon and spa booth rental business right next door. And cue the heavenly music… This is when Mercury came into fruition. We wanted to bring a big city feel to our town and here’s how we made it happen:
1) Ideas and designing by Jenica.
2) Going with the flow and implementation by Matt.
3) Many helping hands from our generous family members.
Now let’s fast forward to the present. We’ve had many fabulous renters but we’ve evolved over the years as most things do. What was once Serenity Spa is now Mercury Wellness Spa & Venue. We recently had some changes with our business so we figured now is the perfect time to provide a unique venue for smaller events in our community. So there you have it! In 2006, I graduated from the International School of Beauty & Esthetiques in Waikiki, Hawaii. I came back to North Dakota and worked at few spas until I became a Master Esthetician.
In 2020, I finished my certification to be a Certified Health Coach through the Health Coach Institute. With the knowledge of both professions combined, I can help you to feel confident in the skin you're in.
